Bauer Media announced last month that it is to being offering brands increased access to its editors and producers as part of plans to shift its commercial model towards content creation and partnerships, as reported by various news sources.

From January 2011 Bauer editors will be hosting a series of open-access sessions with both clients and media agencies around cross-brand and cross-platform investment.

Bauer, which currently publishes Grazia, Empire, Heat and FHM to name but a few launched the new project ‘Bauer Access’ under the leadership of broadcast sales and cross-media director Karen Stacey.

Ms Stacey will be supported by senior creatives Darren Khan, Brent Coulson, Joe Evea and Steve Taylor in driving content creation in collaberation with commercial partners.

Stacey said “ Bauer Access will harness the insight and ideas we have to offer. Our ambition is to provide clients and agencies with access to key creators of our content”.

The twice-yearly IPA digital media owners’ survey found that Bauer Media had experienced a decline in media agency service levels across four attributes.

Bauer countered the claims stating, “ we note the survey recognises our understanding of cross-media opportunities. Digital is an integral part of our business”.
